Amazing company, specific DJ was not great!

My experience with the entire DJ Felix company was amazing! I felt that everyone was very professional and the business ran really well. It was obvious that you have done this many times and I felt like I was in really great hands! Because of this, I would recommend DJ Felix to absolutely everyone.

We specifically had a bilingual DJ, his name was Felipe. And I have to be honest that we were both disappointed in his performance. We did have a meeting about two weeks before the wedding which he was late to and it did seem like he forgot about the meeting, so I did have to call him. I provided him with every single piece of information that he would ever need for our wedding, all songs and artist, specific times on when I wanted the music to start and stop, exactly who would be announced, and the exact timeline of the entire night. All forms that I provided to Felipe are attached in this email.

Our first few bridesmaids and groomsmen did not walk down to the correct song… It was still the same song from the previous people walking in front of them. We did speak to him specifically about when our recessional song would begin and at what point in the ceremony this would happen, in which he let us know that that was absolutely no problem and he was very comfortable with that…. But that is not what happened and he was incredibly late.

For our reception, I was meant to share a special dance with my mother, and he never played the song or communicated with me about it. We were also supposed to do a speed round of pictures with all of our guests and that was also not communicated or brought up ever. When I communicated with him about these two events, it was to let him know that the photographers were already gone and so we would not be doing them. I will say we were running a little bit behind and I do understand how part of the communication is on us, as the guest of honor to help guide him. As the bride and groom, there are so many things going on that I really wish we would’ve had that level of communication from him.
Felipe also did not play all of the songs on our “must play”list, some of the songs on our “must play” list he played when we were gone taking pictures. He also did play some songs on our “do not play” list.

Our night still went great and none of our guests had any idea that anything was missing or done wrong. I do have to say that overall he did a great job as a DJ. I just don’t feel that he did a great job tailoring things specifically to the bride and groom and what their wishes were.

To both of us, it felt that he was not prepared. We felt disappointed and considering our experience with the DJ Felix company we both did have higher expectations for the DJ that would be provided to us.
All that being said, I would still recommend DJ Felix entertainment to anybody that I know that would be having an event, I would not however recommend Felipe for those events. ... See MoreSee Less
